Interview with Tiffany Pierce Evans

Each year, the construction industry, guided by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), dedicates the first week of March to honoring and promoting the role of women in the construction industry. This year’s Women in Construction Week theme, Keys to the Future, celebrates women’s strength and knowledge and their vital role in shaping the construction industry’s future.

In honor of this year’s Women in Construction week, The Concord Group is sitting down with some of our very own women in construction for a special Q&A. Join us for this as we learn about their construction journeys, their roles at Concord, and their insights about being a woman in this industry.

Q&A with Tiffany Pierce Evans, Project Executive at The Concord Group

Meet Tiffany Pierce Evans, Project Executive at The Concord Group. Today, we sat down with Tiffany and asked her a few questions about her career in construction.

How did you decide on a career in the construction industry?
I enjoy the challenge of critical thinking and problem-solving. A construction project has so many phases that are constantly changing. No two projects are ever the same and each has its own challenges.

What is your current role and what does it entail?
Project Executive. I oversee multiple projects and work with a variety of teams across multiple markets.

What do you like most about your career?
The people I work with and the opportunities The Concord Group has given me to further my career.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Driving past a previous project and being able to tell my kids, “mommy helped build that”.

What advice would you give to women who are thinking about a career in construction?
There are a lot of opportunities and career paths in the industry that many don’t think about. The construction industry covers everything from traditional construction to accounting to virtual reality and beyond.

What is the best advice you’ve received during your career?
Don’t be afraid to admit when you were wrong.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced as a woman in construction?
The most challenging part is earning the same amount of respect as my peers. Early in my career I worked in road construction and everyone assumed I just held the stop sign when I actually did everything but that.

Are you involved with any industry-related organizations?
Wisconsin Healthcare Engineer Association WHEA and Oracle – Customer Advisory Board Member.
